Opportunity International Hosted Four Regional Summits in 2013
2013 has been an inspiring year. In this blog series, the 12 Days of Opportunity, we are celebrating the accomplishments made possible by our caring and generous community of partners and supporters. Because of you, our clients are working their way out of poverty, strengthening their families and building vibrant communities in 22 countries around the world.
This fall, Opportunity International Governors and supporters joined us in four cities around the country for the 2013 Regional Summits. From Chicago to Palo Alto and Minneapolis to Atlanta, Opportunity International donors gathered together to meet, reconnect and learn more about the work they support around the world.
At each event, attendees heard from CEO Vicki Escarra and other leading experts about the latest developments in empowering clients to work their way out of poverty. They learned about recent innovations in the fields of education, agriculture and technology that – combined with our time-tested and proven methods – are helping more people change their lives, their children’s futures and their communities.
Attendees enthusiastically responded:
“I have loved everyone I have been introduced to. Huge hearts, brilliant minds. All with a smart take on ending poverty.”
“[I liked] gathering with like-minded people to discuss and learn more about programs to help the poor to help themselves.”
“The effectiveness of moving people out of poverty was enthusiastically conveyed and very inspiring.”
“[There was] so much information about an incredible business model. So much positive energy around what OI is doing. So many great people with caring hearts who want to engage positive change.”
“I am so excited and encouraged to plug into OI. What a fantastic group!”
Each year, Opportunity International Summits are a great way for new supporters to learn about our work and meet other like-minded individuals, and for returning donors and advocates to stay connected to the work they faithfully support.
