Opportunity International partners with financial institutions to provide innovative financial services to families living in extreme poverty. These financial tools are coupled with comprehensive training to ensure that clients not only have access to resources but also know how to use them. Through local outreach teams, Opportunity International offers clients training in critical skills including financial literacy and business management.
Our local staff outreach teams build a trusted presence in remote communities where services and resources are extremely limited, get to know entrepreneurs and families, and provide training and support as clients build their businesses and livelihoods. Opportunity staff are trusted voices in the community, helping build bridges and develop partnerships to better meet the needs of Opportunity clients.
Financial Literacy Training
Loan Officers train clients on basic financial skills related to earning, spending, budgeting, and borrowing money. As clients build their businesses, these critical financial literacy modules ensure they are informed as they make major financial decisions.
Training is offered through Trust Groups, digital education, and other avenues. It is designed to help clients better understand the wide range of financial services available to them, increase their use of savings accounts and insurance products, better manage their credit, and diversify their assets.
Business Management Training
In addition to financial literacy, Opportunity teaches clients about business management, helping them plan for the futures of their businesses. Through modules like employee management, ethical business practices, and procurement, entrepreneurs learn how to develop their small businesses into thriving enterprises that provide for their families and create jobs for their neighbors.
