Shannon Bruder is the Senior Vice President for Program Management at Opportunity International. She provides oversight to the organization’s portfolio of institutionally funded grants and programs, and she is responsible for monitoring the organization’s progress against its strategic impact investment goals.

Bruder is leading efforts to integrate the Program Management team with the Institutional Business Development team, which will enhance the organization’s capacity to obtain and successfully implement institutionally funded awards.

Shannon has more than 15 years of experience in international development and international education. She began her career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine, and subsequently managed a range of international exchange, economic development, and civil society strengthening programs in Africa, the Middle East, and the former Soviet Union for the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX).

Bruder has a decade of experience leading business development efforts for IREX, Global Communities, and the Institute of International Education (IIE), overseeing the creation of winning proposals for large and complex international development and international exchange programs funded by the U.S. government and other institutional donors.

Shannon holds a Master of Arts degree in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, with a focus on international development, and a Master of Arts degree in history and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and political science from the University of Pennsylvania.
