Ron GrayGeneral Counsel
Ron Gray has more than 35 years of legal experience in government and the private sector with expertise in consumer credit, retail banking, sub-prime personal lending transactions, mergers and acquisitions among many other corporate transactions. He also has extensive international experience, living and working abroad.
Prior to joining Opportunity International, Ron was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of International Cards, Cross Border Initiatives and a member of the International Executive Team at Citibank, where he created a strategy to identify and share best practices across 58 countries.
Ron also enjoyed a highly successful 23-year-career at American Express, where he served as Managing and Senior Counsel and doubled credit card charge volume to over $1 billion with innovations that streamlined the application process for corporate clients and saved the organization $3 million a year through improved litigation management practices which also improved customer retention by rethinking the customer service complaint process to resolve issues before litigation was initiated.
Ron began his career as a staff attorney for the Federal Trade Commission. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Ohio University and a juris doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
