Genzo YamamotoDirector of Knowledge Management
Genzo Yamamoto has been the Director of Knowledge Management at Opportunity International since 2011. In this capacity, he works closely with program and project directors to establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks and research and learning agendas. In the fourteen years since joining Opportunity, he has conducted or overseen research that spans many partner countries and aids in the optimization of operations, increases our understanding of the clients, measure the impact/effectiveness of services, and contribute learnings to the broader industry.
Before joining Opportunity, Genzo worked as a professor of international history at Boston University and Wheaton College. In both, he was involved in institutional research and evaluation. He also worked as an independent consultant for l’Université Chrétienne Bilingue du Congo in the DRC, and as a program evaluator for a USAID development program in South Sudan.
Genzo received his B.A. from Covenant College, studying also at Jerusalem University College and the University of Aberdeen, and a Ph.D. from Yale University. Genzo has a C.E.P. in Evaluation from The Evaluators’ Institute affiliated with Claremont Graduate University, and a C.K.M. from the Knowledge Management Institute.
