David KoneDirector, Opportunity International Nicaragua

David Kone is Opportunity International’s Director in Nicaragua and is responsible for overseeing all operations. David is an entrepreneur with extensive experience running businesses in the United States and Latin America.  He has also worked in business development, market research, sales, logistics, and operations in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. 

In addition to his work with Opportunity, David serves on a number of nonprofit boards, including Corazon de Dahlia in New York. He also established the first English-speaking Rotary Club in Lima, Peru, organizing local and international business leaders to join together for networking and community service purposes. 

David began his career at the Alabama International Trade Center, enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to successfully export and import their goods and services. He has a bachelor’s degree in International Marketing and World Business from the University of Alabama.
