Cheryl Jereczek serves as Opportunity’s Chief Philanthropy Officer, guiding the organization’s private and individual fundraising efforts and external relations strategies.

Drawing on her extensive experience in both the corporate and impact sectors, Cheryl leads the Private Philanthropy, Philanthropy Services, and Marketing and Communications teams. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to delivering transformative impact and fostering sustainable change in communities around the world.

Before joining Opportunity, Cheryl served as Chief Development Officer at Bethany Christian Services, where she led multi-functional fundraising efforts, including the organization’s national campaign strategies and donor relations.

Previously, she spent 12 years at World Vision, overseeing a team of more than 75 fundraisers who collectively secured over $80 million in annual revenue from individuals and institutional foundations.

Cheryl earned her master’s degree from Kent State University and her Bachelor of Science degree from Augsburg University. She and her husband have two children and currently reside in Grand Rapids.
