Alice LajwaProject Manager, Women Empowerment Project, Africa

Alice Norah Lajwa is the Project Manager for Opportunity International's Women Empowerment Project in Uganda and Africa. In this role, Alice is at the forefront of championing gender-inclusive financing in the Africa region for Opportunity. Alice was crucial in designing the women-specific loan product, She Trades, at Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited (OBUL). She is also actively involved in identifying and building partnerships with women's organizations nationwide to increase outreach to women at all levels.

Alice has over ten years of experience in microfinance lending. Before transitioning to her current role supporting women to break barriers to markets, learning, and access to finance, she joined the Opportunity family as a group loan officer at OBUL in 2007.
