Senior Finance Leader Will Advance Opportunity's Financial Stewardship and Long-Term Sustainability

CHICAGO, November 3, 2025 – Opportunity International announced today that Amy Sheridan has joined the organization as Chief Financial Officer.

As CFO, Sheridan will oversee Opportunity’s finance functions, including financial reporting and analysis, accounting operations, budgeting and forecasting, audit, tax, and treasury management. She will play a critical role in advancing financial transparency, accountability, and stewardship—ensuring that Opportunity’s financial systems and strategies fully support the organization’s strategic aspirations and long-term sustainability.

Sheridan brings over three decades of financial leadership across nonprofit, research, and international sectors. During her time with NORC at the University of Chicago, she led a 22-person accounting team, strengthening internal controls and operational efficiency while fostering professional development. Her prior roles include serving as a leader at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, where she managed financial audits and compliance, and serving as CFO of a multinational medical manufacturing group with operations across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, where she advanced global reporting and corporate growth through strategic process improvements.

A Certified Public Accountant, Sheridan holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, with concentrations in Accounting and Organizational Behavior. She is widely respected for her financial integrity, collaborative leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement—values that align deeply with Opportunity’s mission.
