I have good news to share.
For the first time in history, less than 10% of the world lives in extreme poverty—and every day, another 250,000 people graduate from extreme poverty, according to the World Bank. We are encouraged and optimistic because the data shows us that we are slowly but surely achieving our goals, and I am honored to lead an organization that plays a role in this progress. Together, we are working tirelessly each and every day, moving closer to our vision of a world without extreme poverty.
Take a moment to read Nicholas Kristof’s recent piece in the New York Times and be reminded that our work—the hard, daily work serving entrepreneurs around the world—is making a difference. Together, we can end extreme poverty in our lifetime.
