Young Ambassadors for Opportunity are celebrating #GivingTuesday
We know that there’s nothing more important in the world than our families. We do all we can each day to make sure their lives are happy, secure and comfortable. And the same is true for the millions of determined Opportunity International clients in the developing world.
That’s why Arnest Sebbumba gave up a successful career in telecommunications to return to his parents’ struggling dairy farm in Uganda’s Kayunga District. With the help of an Opportunity International loan, the 25-year-old applied the business skills he learned in college to inject new life into the fields and break the cycle of poverty for his family.
Today, the farm is thriving with 10 acres of livestock, bananas, coffee and maize—all because of the support of people like you. Arnest now leads his local co-op and helps other entrepreneurs transform their family and strengthen their community.
This #GivingTuesday, Young Ambassadors for Opportunity will take a stand against global poverty and help more clients, like Arnest, support their families.
If you aren’t familiar with #GivingTuesday, it is an innovative movement that brings people together to address the world’s most challenging issues and creates a national day of giving around the annual shopping and spending season to inspire giving every day.
Join Young Ambassadors around the country as we celebrate #GivingTuesday. Between now and December 3, we are hoping to reach 100 new or renewing Young Ambassadors and empower more clients like Arnest. And we are already 25% of the way to our goal.
What will you do to give back this #GivingTuesday? Become a Young Ambassador today or encourage friends and family to join the YAO community.
