Pope Francis: ‘Where there is Work, There is Dignity’
Pope Francis shared a simple but powerful message during a Sept. 22 visit to the Italian island Sardinia. “Where there is no work,” he said, “there is no dignity.”
That philosophy drives Opportunity International every day.
Our work isn’t about handouts. We empower people in the developing world to lift themselves out of poverty.
Opportunity International loans, training and other services have generated roughly 10 million jobs across more than 22 countries since 1971.
But we’re just getting started. Our goal is to impact 20 million lives across Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe by 2020.
Be part of the movement to create jobs and transform lives by “Liking” Opportunity International on Facebook and following us on Twitter.
Because, as the Pope reminded us, no one can do it alone.
“Hope does not belong to any one person,” he said. “We all create hope.”
Help Opportunity International create hope.
