On Black Friday, Avoid the Malls and Fight Global Poverty

By Opportunity International

Today, avoid the long lines at the mall, and give the gift that keeps on giving with a holiday gift card from OptINnow.

Gift cards start at $10 and come in holiday packaging. The recipient goes tooptinnow.org, chooses an entrepreneur and then uses the gift card to fund a microloan. When the loan is repaid, it’s loaned again and again to help many more people build businesses, making it a gift that really does keep on giving.

OptINnow Gift Cards Near You

This holiday season, a number of Opportunity International supporters have volunteered to sell OptINnow gift cards at church or community events in their area. Here are just a few of the events going on this Christmas season:

Houston, Tx.
Mary-Floye Federer has been involved with Opportunity International for more than a decade, supporting its operations in Honduras, Uganda and South Africa. This year, she will be selling OptINnow gift cards, andOpportunity’s beautiful Christmas cards, at the First Presbyterian Houston Advent Missions Market. The market takes place on consecutive Sundays, Dec. 5, 12 and 19. Mary-Floye says: “We first partnered with Opportunity in the late 1990s and early 2000… I’m excited about the possibilities of Opportunity helping those we are already working with, which will have an even greater and deeper impact.”

Reston, Va.
OptINnow gift cards will be sold at two events on Sunday, Dec. 12 at the United Christian Parish church. One is Alternative Giving, supported by the church’s missions committee, and the other is a children’s Secret Santa shop. Trudy McCrea, a member of Opportunity’s Board of Governors, will sell cards at Alternative Giving. She and her family are church members.

Dana Point, Calif.
OptINnow gift cards as well as Christmas cards will be sold at the alternative holiday bazaar on Sunday, Nov. 28 at Branches Church in Dana Point. The event supports a number of global and local nonprofits.
