In Uganda, 1.4 million refugees are struggling to work, access land and basic services, own property, resettle, and integrate into society. They face many challenges: high reliance on physical cash, lack of access to financial services, low financial literacy, low self-esteem and empowerment, limited livelihood, and isolation from markets that could provide income-generation opportunities.

Opportunity empowers these ambitious individuals to regain their independence and start a new life for themselves.

Jeannie Burns Buckner is leading a fundraising initiative that will be a part of helping 20,000 refugees in the next 3 years through a pilot project in Uganda.

This project will:

• - Reach a total of 20,000 families with tailored services
• - Grow incomes with 2,000 microloans
• - Help 4,000 refugees start saving
• - Support 5,000 jobs in the settlement

Several team members had the privilege of visiting this resilient community in Uganda last month. We are deeply moved by their stories and committed to sharing them with you and closing the remaining funding need by year-end. Join us!

Total Project Goal: $896,550 for 3 years
Total Raised: $853,940
