Christina KoliopoulosVice President of Global Communications

Among other achievements, Christina was instrumental in launching the organization's dynamic new brand, which united the organization under one global banner and rallied employees, donors and others around a powerful new global vision, mission and motivation. She has also strengthened the organization's communication network with donors, staff and other stakeholders around the world, created a wide variety of marketing materials and publications and organized annual summits, fundraising galas and other events. Christina also leads the organization's media relations program, which generated more than 1.4 billion media impressions in 2014 to increase the awareness, credibility and reputation of Opportunity International as a leader in reducing global poverty and transforming lives.

Previously, Christina was Senior Director of Corporate Communications for US Foods, the 10th largest private company in America. In her role, she developed internal and external communication strategies and programs to engage and motivate 25,000 employees while enhancing the reputation of US Foods and its brands among customers, employees, the media and other key stakeholders. In the process, Christina transformed a stagnant, passive communications program into a high-performing department that contributed to a 16.9% increase in sales from $18.9 billion in 2010 to $22.1 billion in 2012—the largest increase in the company's 131-year history.

Christina was also Director, Corporate Communications, at USG Corporation, the Fortune 500 building products manufacturer and distributor. She restructured the internal and external communications programs to better engage and motivate employees and customers. This contributed to a 76% increase in sales from $3.3 billion in 2001 to $5.8 in 2006, the largest increase in the company's 105-year history. She was also a key advisor to the CEO and other senior leadership on a wide range of communication and marketing issues, including legislative/lobbying campaigns, brand strategies and new product development.

Christina also held executive positions at Viaticus, Inc., a subsidiary of CNA Financial Corporation, where she was responsible for maintaining a $200 million portfolio and managing an insurance product marketing program.

Christina earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from The University of Illinois—Chicago and completed three executive management programs at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She lives in Chicago.
