Scott GilmoreManaging Director of Global Communications

Scott Gilmore is the Managing Director of Global Communications responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies that establish Opportunity International as an industry thought leader. He is responsible for designing and executing global communications programs that build visibility and enhance reputation among key stakeholder audiences. He will be leveraging experience working with leading top-tier business news organizations to highlight the relentless work by Opportunity International to help end extreme poverty.

Prior to joining Opportunity International, Scott served as director of communications at Prudential Financial, Inc. He was supporting the internal and external communications efforts to align the company's communications and brand strategy and collaborate with executive leadership, cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to articulate the integrated strategy and that accelerated the masterbrand capital of Prudential. Furthermore, he amplified the thought leadership of PGIM, Prudential's $1.3T AUM global investment management businesses, to enable the organization to pursue its highest possible goals and protect the business reputation and brand equity.

Previously, Scott led communications in the consumer packaged goods sector with the creation of the Global Nutrition Group at PepsiCo. While at PepsiCo, he supported the external, executive, and internal strategic communications to drive awareness among key external stakeholders. In addition, he worked in Corporate Public Affairs at Abbott Laboratories, where he provided corporate reputation management, global philanthropy, and strategic external communications. Prior to Abbott, Scott oversaw national media opportunities and crisis hospital media relations at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, one of the top 10 hospitals in the U.S.

Scott has a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Hope College, and masters' degrees in Communications Management from Northwestern University, and Strategic Public Relations/Public Policy/Political Management from George Washington University.
