Luke CoulsonDirector of Client Services, Agriculture Finance

Luke Coulson serves as the Director of Client Services for Opportunity International’s Agriculture Finance program, working with Opportunity’s financial institution partners to identify and implement innovative financial service solutions targeting smallholder farmers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in agribusinesses. 

For the last twelve years, Luke has been at the forefront of efforts in the Africa region to commercialize smallholder value chains and has been actively involved in the development and deployment of information and communications technology (ICT) tools designed for smallholder farmers in agricultural value chains.

Luke holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of Kwazulu-Natal and received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Environmental Science and an Economics Honours degree from Rhodes University.

Luke grew up in Zimbabwe and currently lives in Malawi with his wife, daughter, and son.
