John HartVice Chairman, New York Private Bank & Trust Company
John Hart is Vice Chairman of New York Private Bank & Trust Company. He has over 30 years of experience in the banking sector, primarily in Investments and Private Wealth Management. For the last 23 years, John has been responsible for the Capital Markets and Banking Divisions of Emigrant Bank. He also serves as a Director of Emigrant Mortgage Company, Inc., Emigrant Funding Corporation, Emigrant Agency Inc. and Independent Means, Inc. Prior to New York Private Bank & Trust, he was a Senior Director of Capital Markets for 9 years at Meritor Savings Bank.
John is deeply involved in his community. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Bowery Mission in New York City, as a Director for the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding and co-Chairs the New York Advisory Board of St. Joseph’s University. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Hope Church in Wilton, Connecticut and of the Christian Heritage School in Trumbull, Connecticut. John has been an active supporter and member of the Board of Governors of Opportunity International for over 10 years and frequently hosts events for the YAO New York chapter. John received his MBA in Finance and Banking from Saint Joseph’s University and a BA in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University. He and his wife Kathryn live in both New York City and Sarasota, Florida.
