With monthly book recommendations featuring international authors, characters living in the countries in which Opportunity works, or issues related to global poverty and development, the Book Club is a great way to learn and explore—right from the comfort of your couch.
Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.
Charles William Elliot
How the Opportunity Book Club works
- Each month, we select a book about a region of the world in which Opportunity works, a topic we want to learn more about (like poverty, development, philanthropy, generosity, or global economics), or an issue that is relevant to our clients. The books range in length, genre, and narrative style, so there is something for everyone on the list!
- We’ll send you an email announcing the book of the month—just sign up to stay up to date! We’ll also share the book in our Facebook group.
- You can share your thoughts, questions, and opinions on the book in our Facebook group. It’s a great way to connect with readers all over the world.
- Want to talk about a book in person? Great! Gather a few friends, put out some wine and cheese, and start chatting. Our full list of Book Club selections is always available to you—so you can always find a book of interest.
