Itinerary

Sunday, November 2, 2014
Arrive in Entebbe, Uganda. Local Opportunity Staff will meet you upon your arrival and take you to your hotel for a good night’s rest.

Monday, November 3, 2014
Begin your day with breakfast and a briefing by senior leadership at the head office. Venture into the field to observe a Trust Group and visit clients in their homes and places of business.

Tuesday, November 4, 2014
Travel to our rural branch in Jinja to meet coffee farmers and visit with school proprietors and their students who have benefitted from our education finance program.

Wednesday, November 5, 2014
Check out of the hotel and depart for Kigali where you’ll experience the cultural history of Rwanda at the National Genocide Museum.

Thursday, November 6, 2014
Explore the fields of our smallholder farmers with Opportunity loan officers as you hear firsthand about the challenges of farming in  Africa. Join a Trust Group meeting and visit clients in their homes and places of business.

Friday, November 7, 2014
Tour the main branch and meet Opportunity’s local staff. Depart for Ruhengiri and enjoy rural life during your drive through the countryside to visit a few clients.

Saturday, November 8, 2014
Awake at sunrise to visit Volcanoes National Park. Trek the rain forest for an up-close encounter with the rare silverback gorillas in their natural habitat.

Sunday, November 9, 2014
Enjoy a late breakfast before driving back to Kigali for some souvenir shopping. Depart for home with wonderful memories, lasting friendships and a renewed spirit as you reflect on your role in Opportunity’s work to end poverty.
