October 16 is World Food Day - a day to remember the 803 million hungry people and 2 billion people suffering from malnutrition around the world. As we gather with other organizatoins to celebrate this years theme, Family Farming: Feeding the World, Caring for the Earth, we are reminded of Opportunity International's many agricultural clients who are moving from subsistence to commercial farming.
Through tailored tools and training, Opportunity invests in farmers, equipping them to provide not only for their families, but their whole communities as well. As farmers improve their crop yields and production quality, fewer people suffer from hunger and malnutrition. We believe in fighting global hunger sustainably, and we are especially proud to do so as we celebrate World Food Day this year.
